The headquarters of the Polaris Bank in Victoria Island was yesterday besieged by placard carrying members of the National Union of Banks, Insurance and Financial Institutions Employees who picketed the bank for sacking about 40 employees without due process. The workers who besieged the Bank's premises as early as  6.30am were singing solidarity songs denouncing the actions of Polaris bank management. Speaking with newsmen on the issue, the General Secretary of the Union, Comrade Mohammed Sheikh said about 40 workers including cleaners and security men were laid off without due process and laid down procedures.   Comrade Mohammed Sheik.
