One year in Office, Maran salutes Customs CG Adeniyi for greater achievements.

The Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria (MARAN) Nigeria’s leading maritime beat association has extended a warm congratulation to the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi on the occasion of his first anniversary as the Comptroller General of the service. The association thanked the CGC for not disappointing Nigerians and living up to the huge responsibilities reposed in him prior to his appointment. The association in a statement by the President of the association, Godfrey Bivbere and Secretary Babajide Okeowo noted that before his appointment the service was in a dire need of a core professional to steer the affairs of the service and one year after, he has lived up to the expectations reposed in him and has even surpassed it. Democracy Day: Police assures of safety of lives and protection of all infrastructure at the ports.

The Commissioner of Police Ports Authority Police (Western) Command, CP Olanrewaju Olawale Ishola psc+ mnips has assured that the command has mapped out strategies to ensure the close protection of critical national Infrastructure at the Apapa Port, Tincan Island Port, Lekki Deep-Sea Port and other lighter terminals which are critical facilities to the nation's economy as the country marks Democracy Day today June 12. Veteran Journalist, Pa Richard remains for burial on Saturday.

The remains of Mr. Richard Adeniyi, a veteran Journalist and member of Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria (MARAN), will be laid to rest in his country home, Ondo, Ondo State, on Saturday June 8, 2024.  Mr. Richard Adeniyi, a seasoned journalist, died at the age of 86 years in April 2024.  While alive, he worked with many newspapers including Daily Times. He was a member of Nigeria Union of Journalists and actively participated in the Lagos State Council.  As an active member of the Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria (MARAN), he contributed significantly to the development of the nation's seaports through reporting. His burial rites will start with service of songs and Christian Wake on Friday, June 7; interment on Saturday, June 8, and followed by reception at Ariya Event Centre, Olufisayo Street, Sabo Road, Ondo. May his soul rest in peace.
