The 3 Suspects 18-year-old Samson Odunayo, said he decided to go into robbery because he needed money for data subscription, so as to delve into internet fraud. He is one of the teenagers arrested for allegedly killing a motorcyclist in Ogun state. The suspects (Sodiq Awokoya,18, Samson Odunayo,18, and Jimoh Rilwan, 17,) were arrested on the 8th of October at tollgate area of Ogere where they had gone to sell the deceased motorcycle. Further investigation revealed that Samson Odunayo was the person who called the deceased to take him to somewhere in Iperu, unknown to the okada man that he had already informed Sodiq Awokoya to wait in a bush along Ona Eri area of Iperu with cutlass and other dangerous weapons. On getting to the point, Samson Odunayo ordered the deceased to stop because he has gotten to his destination. While the deceased was waiting to collect his money, Sodiq Awokoya came out with a cutlass and hacked him down...

The federal government has declared Tuesday, October 19, as a public holiday to mark the Eid-ul-Maulud celebration. Permanent secretary, ministry of interior, Shuaib Belgore, made this known via a statement to this effect on Friday. Plans are underway in Kano state, Nigeria to produce 150 MW of electricity from waste. This was announced by Capegate Investment Limited, a Nigerian-based company that specializes in Biotechnology and Waste management, approximately three months after it signed a 20-year public-private partnership with the Kano State Government and took over waste management in the state. Speaking on the  plans, Bello Abba Yakasai, the company’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) said that next year, they will generate 10 megawatts of electricity and in the next five years, depending on how the typology of waste changes, will yield to 150 megawatts for Kano and Jigawa. According to the Capegate Investment COO, the plan to produce 150 MW of electricity from waste in Kano is  part of a larger plan where the company intends to establish three major industries.

Buhari had on Wednesday relieved Saleh Mamman, Minister of power, and Sabo Nanono, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Developments of their duties. He said he wanted to consolidate on legacy performance and projects. He however said they were not removed for poor performance.
