TCAN looks towards unlocking economic growth through transportation logistics; as it holds 2026 transport summit.

The Transportation Correspondents Association of Nigeria (TCAN) is set to honour Champions of Transport Industry Development (CoTID) at its 2026 Annual Transport Summit slated for September 24th 2026 with the theme: Unlocking Economic Growth Through Transportation Logistics. The umbrella body of transport journalists, in a statement explained that the event, which will hold at Raddison Hotel & Suite in the heart of Lagos, will convene key stakeholders across Nigeria’s transportation value chain — including aviation, maritime, rail, road transport, and logistics services — alongside policymakers, regulators, captains of industry, financial institutions, and development partners. Warri–Itakpe Train Service temporarily suspended by Nigeria Railway Corporation.

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) says the Warri–Itakpe Train Service (WITS) has been temporarily suspended due to operational exigencies and  technical advice from  Engineers. According to a statement released by Callistus Unyimadu,Chief Public Relations Officer,  the temporary suspension has become necessary to enable the engineers carry out critical operational assessments  aimed at ensuring continued safety, reliability, and improved service delivery on the corridor.  "NRC regrets the inconvenience this development may cause passengers and other stakeholders, and assures the public that efforts are currently ongoing to resolve the issues within the shortest possible time. NRC says passengers and intending travelers will be duly informed before the end of the week on the date for the resumption of normal  train operations."
