NRC presents permanent operation licence to Lagos state for Redline train services.

The Nigeria Railway Corporation has  presented a Permanent Operating Licence to the Lagos State Government through the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) for the operation of the Redline. The LRMT Red Line commenced passenger operations on 15 October 2024 with morning and evening peak services, following its inauguration by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Presenting the document to the LAMATA DG, Engineer Mrs Abimbola Akinojo  the Managing Director of Nigerian Railway Corporation, Dr.Kayode Opeifa said the  licence formally grants LAMATA access to operate services on the shared corridor in accordance with the Track Sharing Agreement, while conferring the rights and obligations contained therein. LASWA partners Apollo Foundation towards leadership empowering of the youths.

OGUN DISMISSES VIRAL PROSTRATION ALLEGATION AS MALICIOUS PROPAGANDA

This is according to a release by Hon. Kayode Akinmade, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to the Governor. "The claim that members of the Ogun State Executive Council routinely prostrate before Governor Dapo Abiodun whenever he is displeased with them is a complete fabrication. At no time has any commissioner or cabinet member been required to prostrate before the Governor, nor has such an incident ever occurred." In a release signed by him, he said it has become necessary to set the record straight. He said the demolition in Amikanle was a Lagos State Government exercise, not a Local Council project   "My attention has been drawn to a video by one Raymond, identified on TikTok as @ponmilesaka, in which he alleged that I was responsible for the demolition exercise carried out along the AIT Road corridor in Amikanle. Pure Dairy Herds to invest $250 million farm in Ogun .state

A specialised cattle and milk production company, Pure Dairy Herds has unveiled plans to establish a $250 million dairy farm, in Ogun state This will make it one of the largest dairy farms in Nigeria in the state. European Investment Bank Partners Lagos State Government in EUR 170 Million Investments to Develop Sustainable Waterways.

Lagos State and EIB Global, the branch of the European Investment Bank (EIB) dedicated to development and international partnerships, have announced a EUR 170 million financial partnership to develop a sustainable and efficient waterways transport in Lagos.    The project is part of the strategic corridor, Abidjan-Lagos, which is supported by the EU under the European Global Gateway Initiative. It responds to national and regional priorities and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs . This is the first collaboration between LASWA and EIB, the largest funder of the Omi Eko Project. The Ogun State Government has temporarily relocated students of Our Lady of Apostles Girls Grammar School, Ijebu-Ode, to an alternative location as investigations into the recent chemical inhalation incident on the school premises intensify. International partnerships took center stage as the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) welcomed a distinguished delegation led by the Vice President of the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the EU Ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS to its headquarters. An official signing ceremony was followed by a guided site tour of select terminals/jetties and then a closing press briefing to highlight the activities of the day. Lagos NURTW in collaboration with state government towards data capturing of commercial drivers, starting from Keke riders.

The Lagos state National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) is working with the State Ministry of Transport to ensure  data capturing of Keke riders in the state towards their proper identification.  The State Secretary of NURTW, Comrade Usman Teslim who disclosed this while speaking with Focus News said they will enventually be given identification numbers and this will help towards identifying them whenever any issue arises.
