Newly elected National President of National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has assured that the union under his leadership will work tirelessly to uphold the dignity of labour, uphold the the good legacies left behind by immediate past leaders, collaborate with stakeholders and the government to better the economy and improve members welfare.

Comrade Oladiti gave the assurance in his acceptance speech, at the 6th Quadrennial Delegates Conference of the Union, where he was unanimously elected as the new President.

He assured that he will not disappoint the members of the Union for their confidence in him, as he will continue to work to improve the legacy left behind by the administration of the immediate President, Comrade Williams Akporeha and surpass it.

He assured NUPENG members and workers that their rights and welfare would be one of the cardinal programmes of his administration.

Comrade Oladiti said his administration will actively collaborate with the government, employers in the Oil and Gas Industry, and other stakeholders for the betterment of oil and gas workers and the industry.

He commended the immediate past administration under Comrade Williams Akporeha for its health, insurance programmes which the workers are now enjoying.

He also thanked the delegates from all over the country for their believe in him which made them elected him unanimously.

Comrade Oladiti is a tested hand in the industry having served in various capacities where he proved his mettle.

Otunba Oladiti from the informal sector of NUPENG was the immediate National Trustee.

In their unanimous decision, other members to serve in the executive with the new President were also elected unopposed.


Delegates who spoke to Focus News at the Conference were of the opinion that Comrade Oladiti administration will bring new innovations into the oil and gas industry.

In his words, Comrade Adekunle Akinlaja, PTD Lagos Zonal Secretary said the union is looking towards a progressive tenure marked by greater unity, workers welfare and industrial harmony under his leadership.

CPS Pensioners in Lagos state call on Gov. Sanwoolu, to expedite action on the payment of their Benefits.

The delay in the payment of their Pension Arears and other entitlements is worrisome to the Contributory Pensioners in Lagos state, who called on Governor Babajide Sanwoolu to quickly take a decisive action to pay their areas and other entitlements as approved by President Bola Tinubu. PENCOM pledges to see that Lagos State pays CPS retirees.

Director General of National Pension Commission, Ms Omolola Oloworaran has pledged that the Commission will fast track and work towards Lagos State government paying retirees under the Contributory Pension Scheme what is due to them like their federal counterparts. She made the pledge at a media workshop in Lagos for journalists.
