NUBIFIE assures of new Naira notes to Commercial banks, calls members back to duty.

The National Union of Banks Insurance and Financial Institutions Employees (NUBIFIE) said there are assurance of supply of new naira notes in the coming days. 

In a statement signed by the National President Comrade  Anthony Abakpa and Secretary General Comrade Sheik Muhammed, they said the assurance was coming from stakeholders in the banking industry under the auspices of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria.

The union said the safety of lives of workers in the banks, facilities and property has also been assured.

NUBIFIE said it has been assured that concrete steps are been taken by relevant authorities to address the difficulties associated with accessing the new naira notes.

NUBIFIE said in view of the assurances it is suspending the union early orders as contained in the resolution of the National Executive Council. The union said it has resolved to join forces with other stakeholders to address the situation on group.

The Union said the workers safety and of workplaces and facilities are also guaranteed and urged the commercial bank workers to be assured of their safety.

NUBIFIE therefore urged members of the public to remain calm and grant the appropriate authorities benefit of doubt to execute measures that will ameliorate the hardship.

PENCOM pledges to see that Lagos State pays CPS retirees.

Director General of National Pension Commission, Ms Omolola Oloworaran has pledged that the Commission will fast track and work towards Lagos State government paying retirees under the Contributory Pension Scheme what is due to them like their federal counterparts. She made the pledge at a media workshop in Lagos for journalists. CPS Pensioners in Lagos State, call on Governor Sanwoolu to expedite action on their Pension increases.
