The era of Casualisation of workers in the country without regard for their welfare, seems to be on the way out, as Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) is out to regularise and ensure employers comply with labour acts.
Towards this the Nigerian Labour Congress is all out to confront employers who delight in enslaving workers in the name of Casualisation.
The newly elected president of Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Joseph Ajaero said it will not be business as usual for the employers as the Congress under his leadership is out to engage such employers, and to achieve this, it is reviving its anti casualisation committee to work with the industrial unions under NLC.
Ajaero emphasised the position of the NLC to workers during his tour of industrial unions in Ogun and Lagos states.
The NLC president therefore order the industrial unions to comply the names of companies under them that refuse to obey fair labour practices, as the Congress is all out to confront them.

He vowed that under his leadership workers in Nigeria would not be subjected to slavery in their father's land.
In most of the industrial unions visited it was the same story, as the unions leaders told stories of woes with companies resulting into casualisation and outsurcing of the workers and retrenchment galore of workers.
NUCFLAMPEE President Comrade Olatunji said the practices of the companies had eroded the finances of his union as most of the workers are either casuals or contract staff. Citing example of Larfage Company, he said only 19percent of the workers are members of the union.
The NLC president Comrade Joe Ajaero said in the Congress new policy it would ensure that most of the workers are unionised.
The visitation of the NLC President took him to NURFLAMPEE in Ijoko, Otta area in Ogun state. NUATEE, NUEE, NUBIFIE, Food Union, Maritime Workers Union, Association of Nigeria Aviation Professionals and Private Telecommunications Senior Staff.
During his visit to the National Union of Banks Insurance and Financial Institutions, NUBIFIE, in Yaba area of Lagos state, the National President Comrade Anthony Abakpa enumerated that most of the workers are outsourced to companies.

Comrade Abakpa pledged his union cooperation with the Nigeria Labour Congress in its drive to ensure decent working conditions for workers in the country.
The NUBIFIE president recalled that his union has always been in the front towards better conditions of service to workers in the financial sector.
He pledged that NUBIFIE would not shy from its responsibilities to the Nigeria Labour Congress.
