Outsourcing companies in the banking sector have been challenged to copy the practice in other countries and emulate same in Nigeria.
National President of National Union of Banks Insurance and Financial Institutions, ( NUBIFIE) Comrade Anthony Abakpa said the way outsourcing is practice in other countries is not the way it is practice in Nigeria.
Speaking with Correspondent Afolabi Oyekunle, Comrade Abakpa said workers should be treated according to International Labour Organization (ILO) acts on outsourcing and all the conditions laid down by the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
He said some outsourcing companies still see their employees as those they could shortchanged and subject to unfair labour practices.
Comrade Abakpa said outsourced staff should be entitled to collective bargain, right incentives and clear conditions of services from their point of entry and departure from services.
He said all outsourcing companies should respect the new conditions of service rolled out by the Ministry of Labour and Employment which has been endorsed by the National Union of Banks Insurance and Financial Institutions (NUBIFIE).
Comrade Abakpa said though outsourcing practice has come to stay as it is the norm in many countries, Nigerian workers should be treated according to the rules of law and employment in the country.
He vowed that his union, NUBIFIE will not tolerate any unfair practice by any outsourcing company.
