Christians charge to embrace the virtues of Jesus Christ.

As Christians all over the World celebrate Easter the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ they have been reminded to embrace the virtues of Jesus Christ; love for mankind, endurance, sprit of forgiveness, dedication to prayers and fasting and perseverance.

A renowned Man of God, Pastor/Prophet Timothy Adeosun, Founder Redeemed People of the Lord Church, located off Tarmac Road, Sango-Otta, Ogun State gave the charge at the Easter Service celebrated in his Church on Sunday.

Prophet Adeosun said there are many things to learn from Christ death and resurrection which offer assurances to Christians that there is resurrection for any dedicated Christian after this world as exemplified by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

At the service in which members offered praises to God, he charged Christians to live a daily live of crucifixion through  holy life, and adherence to the commandments of God.

Prophet Timothy Adeosun said Christians should be closer to God more than before and always remember that there is another life after this world and should not allow the materials things of this World to take them away from God.

He said love should be a paramount thing in the lives of Christians as demonstrated by Jesus Christ during his life to everyone irrespective of religion affliction.

Prophet Adeosun also used the occasion to call on the government to prioritize the welfare of the people through programmes that would elevate hardship,and poverty 

He called on the government to address insecurity in the country so that there can be peace, progress and prosperity.

The Easter Service was attended by hundreds of worshippers who danced and offered praises to God.

The Easter celebration continues on Monday in the church in which members will dance, eat and exchange gifts.

PenCom urges Lagos State Governor to extend periodic pension increase to retirees under CPS, as Sanwoolu welcomes the idea.

The National Pension Commission (PenCom)  has called on  the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to extend periodic pension increases currently enjoyed by Defined Benefit Scheme (DBS) retirees to those under the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) to boost their monthly pensions.  The Director General of PenCom, Ms. Omolola Oloworaran, made the request during a courtesy visit to Governor Sanwo-Olu at the Lagos State Government House on 7 May 2025. The visit was to present the report of PenCom’s 2024 routine inspection of the Lagos State Pension Commission (LASPEC) and to thank the Governor for confirming his participation as Special Guest at the Pension Industry Leadership Retreat starting 8 May 2025. PENCOM pledges to see that Lagos State pays CPS retirees.

Director General of National Pension Commission, Ms Omolola Oloworaran has pledged that the Commission will fast track and work towards Lagos State government paying retirees under the Contributory Pension Scheme what is due to them like their federal counterparts. She made the pledge at a media workshop in Lagos for journalists.
