There are immense benefits for youths to develop themselves and build careers by leveraging in the Digital World.
This is the key word of advice given to youths in the country at the end of a two weeks training on contents creation, film making and script writing organised by UNESCO led International Labour Organization and four others international bodies for 31 youths at a two weeks training program at the Eko Hotels.
Speaking at the closing of the program for the youths aged between 18 and 24years, the Country Director of ILO, Dr Vanessa Phala-Moyo represented by an ILO Technical Expert, Dr Runo Onosade advised the youths to build on the training and prove their mettle by creating contents on matters that are valuable to the society
Dr Runo said the program represents a critical step in empowering the youths.
According to her, the program was designed to make the youths self dependent and open them to opportunities open to them in the digital world.
The closing ceremony of the two weeks training at Eko Hotels was attended by several actors in the film industry, including Veteran Actor, Kebby Ekpeyong Bimbo Akintola, Eric Ossai and the Chief Executive of Africa Fashion Designers, Da-Silva Adeoye.
Speaking to the participants, Actress Bimbo Akintola charged the youths to seize the opportunities the training offered them and improve their skills in the creativity world towards building a future for themselves. She said they should be masters of themselves and have a master plan for their future.
In his words, Veteran Actor Kebby Ekpeyong said the contributions of actors to the socio-values of the country is immense as the industry is big for everybody. He debunked the notion that actors are not responsible, according to him Africa has the largest Actors in the world contribution their quota .
Mr Eric Ossai was full of praises for the organisers for recognizing the potentials of youths in Nigeria and challenged the participants not to rest on their oars but go out to prove their worth to the society.
The participants who were given certificates at the of the program told newsmen their readiness to put into good use what they learnt to the benefits of the society.
They said the training had opened their eyes to embrace technology towards the betterment of themselves and the society.
The training was midwifed by the Digital Film Makers of Nigeria.
