APC Leader salutes President Tinubu on his birthday.

As more people continue to wish President Bola Tinubu good will on his 73rd birthday, the APC Organising Secretary for the South West, Honourable Lateef Ibirogba has called on the President to continue his good gesture to lift the country from the 'woods'.

In his good will message to the President, Honourable Lateef Ibirogba wishes him more years in good health, wisdom and courage to take the country to the promise land.

Honourable Lateef Ibirogba described President Tinubu as a courageous, enterprising leader who knows the best for the people and the country. He described him as a rare gem and gift to humankind.

He said the President is a genius who understands the problems of the country inherited from past administration and is taking the right steps to solve them.

Honourable Lateef Ibirogba called on Nigerians to continue to have patience with the present administration as all the economic and social steps being taken will eventually lead to the promised land.

Meanwhile, Honourable Lateef Ibirogba has commended members of the House of Representatives to upgrade the 37 Local Council Development Areas in Lagos state to full fledged local governments.

He said the gesture is commendable as Lagos State deserves more local governments giving its potential economy and contributions to the economy of Nigeria.

According to Honourable Ibirogba Lagos State has been shortchanged in the number of local governments and the National Assembly is in the right direction to correct the error.

He said with more local governments Lagos State will continue to be the pace setter for the growth of the enormous potentials in the state and Nigeria.

He called on the National Assembly to speed up the passage of the bill into law.

Omisande: CPS Pensioners in Lagos State assured of payment of their increase pension benefits as their Federal counterparts.

PenCom urges Lagos State Governor to extend periodic pension increase to retirees under CPS, as Sanwoolu welcomes the idea.

The National Pension Commission (PenCom) has called on the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to extend periodic pension increases currently enjoyed by Defined Benefit Scheme (DBS) retirees to those under the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) to boost their monthly pensions. The Director General of PenCom, Ms. Omolola Oloworaran, made the request during a courtesy visit to Governor Sanwo-Olu at the Lagos State Government House on 7 May 2025. The visit was to present the report of PenCom’s 2024 routine inspection of the Lagos State Pension Commission (LASPEC) and to thank the Governor for confirming his participation as Special Guest at the Pension Industry Leadership Retreat starting 8 May 2025. PENCOM pledges to see that Lagos State pays CPS retirees.

Director General of National Pension Commission, Ms Omolola Oloworaran has pledged that the Commission will fast track and work towards Lagos State government paying retirees under the Contributory Pension Scheme what is due to them like their federal counterparts. She made the pledge at a media workshop in Lagos for journalists. The Director General was surprised when she was asked why the Template for the payment was not released to Lagos State government for the payment of backlog of areas and allowances as approved by the Federal government, which Federal retirees are currently enjoying.
