APC ready for July 12th local government election in Lagos state........Hon: Ibirogba.

The giant strides and progressive work at  the local government level in Lagos state will work in favour of the All Progressives Congress party (APC) come July 12th local government election.

APC Chieftain Honourable Lateef Ibirogba said this in an interview with FocusNews on the forthcoming election.


Honourable Ibirogba who is the South West Organizing Secretary of the party therefore called on members of the party in Lagos state to put their acts together and support elected candidates for Chairmanship and Councillors at the primary election.

He appealed to those who lost in the primary to see it as a challenge to prepare for other times and support the winners.

Honourable Ibirogba said there are bound to be differences among the candidates, however the party is putting its mechanism together to resolve all issues as a result of the primary.



He is of the believe that APC is well ahead of other parties in Lagos state and they pose no serious threat.

Speaking on the country' s democracy, he said Nigeria has attained a lot since inception of democracy as there has been stability in the country.

He said democracy in the country has afford the people freedom.of speech, equal rights and rights of association.

According to him, democracy in the country continues to evolve everyday as the country moves forward..

He said the dooms days are over and the people should look forward to better days.

Honourable Ibirogba commended President Bola Tinubu for all his efforts to ensure democracy continues to thrive in the country.

He therefore called on Nigerians to continue to support his administration.

PenCom urges Lagos State Governor to extend periodic pension increase to retirees under CPS, as Sanwoolu welcomes the idea.

The National Pension Commission (PenCom)  has called on  the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to extend periodic pension increases currently enjoyed by Defined Benefit Scheme (DBS) retirees to those under the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) to boost their monthly pensions.  The Director General of PenCom, Ms. Omolola Oloworaran, made the request during a courtesy visit to Governor Sanwo-Olu at the Lagos State Government House on 7 May 2025. PENCOM pledges to see that Lagos State pays CPS retirees.

Director General of National Pension Commission, Ms Omolola Oloworaran has pledged that the Commission will fast track and work towards Lagos State government paying retirees under the Contributory Pension Scheme what is due to them like their federal counterparts. She made the pledge at a media workshop in Lagos for journalists.
