100 days of great impact, as Agbado-Oke LCDA Chairman recounts achievements.

A man of great impact who has demonstrated that great achievements can be recorded in pace of little time.
That is Honourable Abiodun Jimoh Isola, Chairman Agbado-Oke LCDA. Since assumption of office, he has embarked on projects and has shown tremendous impacts in the lives of the people.

As part of his administration's mission to reposition grassroot governance for the benefit of residents of Agbado Oke-Odo local council development area, the executive chairman of the council, Alhaji Abiodun Jimoh Isola has also announced the commencement of construction of twelve major roads across  seven wards of the council. 

Alhaji Isola made the announcement at the council secretariat on Wednesday,26th November,2025 while briefing the media on his achievements in his first 100 days in office and future plans for residents of the council.

The council chairman, during the briefing, stated that the construction of the roads is a testament to his administration's agenda to bring about road infrastructural rebirth in Agbado Oke-Odo local council development area for the benefit of all residents and other stakeholders.

Mayor Isola added that the roads were carefully selected because of their importance and connectivity to the economic development of the council.
He explained that when completed, the roads will greatly reduce the time spent by residents on these roads to link major roads within and outside the council.

He urged residents and other stakeholders in Agbado Oke-Odo lcda to believe in his administration's ability to provide for them, dividend of democracy .
According to the council chairman popularly called the " Black Messiah" by residents and members of staff, the construction of eleven out of the twelve roads will take six months before they are completed, with covered drainages on both sides, surfacing with interlocking and street lights.He added that the roads will have lane marking and painting of the kerbs.

Mayor Isola disclosed further that all the roads have been awarded to competent and tested contractors and the council, through its Works and Housing department will supervise the construction work to ensure that the contractors carry out the job according to laid down specifications and best standard.

He added that one of the twelve roads,Ogundare street in Ile Epo will be ready in three weeks because it only requires rehabilitation.
According to the council chairman, out of the other eleven roads that require total construction, work has commenced on three, because the contractors have moved to site this week, while work will begin on the other eight roads before the end of December.
Mayor Isola listed the roads where construction work has commenced to include,Iperu Akesan road in Iyana Ipaja (Ward A), Adeleye road , also in Iyana Ipaja (Ward A), the two roads, according to the council chairman link each other.
Omisesan road in Moshalashi Alagbado (Ward F) is the third road where work has also begun.

The eight roads where contractors have not moved to site include, Awonusi street, Moshalashi Alagbado (Ward G),Ogunrinde street, also in Moshalashi Alagbado, (Ward G), Remi Odubori street in Suberu-Oje(Ward G),Aderupoko street in Oke-Odo (Ward B)
Others are,Fadeyemi street in Aboru(Ward C), Adedirab street in Iyana Ipaja (Ward A), Risikatu Majaro street,U -Turn,Abule Egba (Ward D) and Oluwafeni street, in Ekoro(Ward E)

The council chairman appealed to residents of these twelve roads to cooperate with the contractors handling the construction to enable them complete their job on time and within the scheduled six months period.

PenCom urges Lagos State Governor to extend periodic pension increase to retirees under CPS, as Sanwoolu welcomes the idea.

The National Pension Commission (PenCom)  has called on  the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to extend periodic pension increases currently enjoyed by Defined Benefit Scheme (DBS) retirees to those under the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) to boost their monthly pensions.  The Director General of PenCom, Ms. Omolola Oloworaran, made the request during a courtesy visit to Governor Sanwo-Olu at the Lagos State Government House on 7 May 2025. PENCOM pledges to see that Lagos State pays CPS retirees.

Director General of National Pension Commission, Ms Omolola Oloworaran has pledged that the Commission will fast track and work towards Lagos State government paying retirees under the Contributory Pension Scheme what is due to them like their federal counterparts. She made the pledge at a media workshop in Lagos for journalists.
