Agbado/Oke-Odo LCDA sets for great transformation......Hon Abiodun Isola.

Executive Chairman, Agbado/Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area, Hon. Abiodun Jimoh Isola said his administration is embarking on key projects, in market development, education, infrastructure development, health and social welfare and empowerment of the people towards  key transformation of the area, and the lives of the people.

The Chairman made the pledge at the 2026 Budget Stakeholders Forum organized by the Council.

In the area of infrastructure, the Chairman said a number of projects have been awarded  which include construction of roads and drainages.  

He pledged that the LCDA also plans to establish a World class market, which will include a mechanic village, a recycling plant and autobile spare parts, a skill acquisition/vocational center and also an event centre.

 Honourable Jimoh Isola said in the area of economic empowerment, the council to mark it's 100days in office activities has designed a program to provide direct  support to the residents of Agbado/
Oke-Odo.

In the area of transportation, he said plans are underway to procure more buses for the Clean-up of Agbado-Oke-Odo Monitoring and Enforcement Team, The Agbado-Oke-Odo NULGE Chapter, The Community Development Committee, The league of Imams, Christian Association of Nigeria, The Obas
 and Baales-in-Council, Revenue Collectors and School pupils and students 

He said to ensure that the Internally Generated Revenue of the council is greatly improved, his administration has restructured its revenue architecture which is now yielding positive results, while new revenue buses to assist revenue officials have been procured

 The stakeholders forum was attended by top notchers of APC at the Council Development level.

Meanwhile, residents of Agbado/Oke-0d0 Council Development Area have been urged to ensure they perform their civic duty regularly through paying their tenement rates, taxes, market development levy and cooperating with the local government officials to achieve the desire goal for the council.

The Vice-chairman of the Council, Honourable Kehinde Shobayo said the cooperation of the people is essential.

According to him, the stakeholders forum was highly successful as the people opinions were sought towards preparation for the 2026 Budget.

He commended the Council Chairman, Hon. Abiodun Jimoh Isola for his laudable achievements since being in office, describing him as a good listener and performer.

Most of the people at the Forum praised Honourable Jimoh Isola, as a true record blazer who is out to achieve tremendous development and raise the standard of the people.

PenCom urges Lagos State Governor to extend periodic pension increase to retirees under CPS, as Sanwoolu welcomes the idea.

The National Pension Commission (PenCom)  has called on  the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to extend periodic pension increases currently enjoyed by Defined Benefit Scheme (DBS) retirees to those under the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) to boost their monthly pensions.  The Director General of PenCom, Ms. Omolola Oloworaran, made the request during a courtesy visit to Governor Sanwo-Olu at the Lagos State Government House on 7 May 2025. The visit was to present the report of PenCom’s 2024 routine inspection of the Lagos State Pension Commission (LASPEC) and to thank the Governor for confirming his participation as Special Guest at the Pension Industry Leadership Retreat starting 8 May 2025. PENCOM pledges to see that Lagos State pays CPS retirees.

Director General of National Pension Commission, Ms Omolola Oloworaran has pledged that the Commission will fast track and work towards Lagos State government paying retirees under the Contributory Pension Scheme what is due to them like their federal counterparts. She made the pledge at a media workshop in Lagos for journalists.
