Nigerians ask to work positively towards betterment of the country....... Archbishop Taiwo Akinola.

Nigeria can be better, if every Nigerian makes his/her mind to change their mindset  positively towards making the country better and the leaders lead by good examples and formulate good policies and pursue good economic development.

This is coming from ArchBishop Taiwo Akinola of Rhema Christian Church Worldwide, while speaking at the Grand finale of the Church 34th Worldwide Convention held between 2nd November to 9th November at the Champion Peace Cathedral, Lagos- Abeokuta Expressway, Temidire, Sango-Ota, Ogun State .

Archbishop Akinola stepped out to deliver powerful messages to the congregation during the Grand finale.


Archbishop Akinola challenged every citizen to play his/ her role very well as many through their ways of life contribute negatively to the progress of the country.

The man of God who spoke on several issues challenged Christians to play their parts positively in setting the country, their environment free from the powers of darkness.

According to Him, Christians should be an asset wherever they found themselves.
Archbishop Akinola reminded them that there war is not physical but spiritual and they are in better position to reposition things positively through their spiritual intervention.

Speaking on the 8- days Convention, Archbishop Akinola said, The God of All Possibilities really manifested as there were miracles and great intervention of the Hands of God. 

He said 34years in the life of the Church has been great with establishment of branches not only in Nigeria but overseas . 
 Archbishop Akinola said the Church was also able to use all the avenues available to it to preach the Gospel and Evangelized.

Hesaid the Church is determined to establish more branches in the next one year to promote God's works and promote evangelism.

The Archbishop at the service inducted the first Provost of the Church in person of Pastor Tofunmi Opaleye, in recognition of his unalloyed support, loyalty, steadfast dedication to pastoral duties and doctrinal integrity.

Speaking to newsmen, the new Provost, Pastor Opaleye pledged his continue loyalty to Archbishop Akinola and the Church, pledging to continue to work towards the progress of the Church.

Pastor Opaleye said the appointment is a call to higher service, and pledged to work dilligently with the fear of God .

Also speaking on the 8days Convention, Elder Olakunle Salako, the President of the Men's Fellowship in the church, said the convention demonstrated the power of God to set free and bless, as there were great testimonies.

Elder Salako, a former member of the House of Representatives, said the Church Founder, Archbishop Akinola has been a wonderful father to all members in the cause of growth and uplifting of members as the church has been serving to help humanity and those in needs through empowerment.

Speaking on the Family Harvest during the service, Elder Salako accompanied by his wife, Pastor Adeola Salako, family and friends, thanked God for the gift of life over his family since the beginning of the year 


He said the Church members also have cause to thank God for His tremendous love over their lives and the church.

The Grand finale service was attended by dignitaries from all walks of life.

PenCom urges Lagos State Governor to extend periodic pension increase to retirees under CPS, as Sanwoolu welcomes the idea.

The National Pension Commission (PenCom)  has called on  the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to extend periodic pension increases currently enjoyed by Defined Benefit Scheme (DBS) retirees to those under the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) to boost their monthly pensions.  The Director General of PenCom, Ms. Omolola Oloworaran, made the request during a courtesy visit to Governor Sanwo-Olu at the Lagos State Government House on 7 May 2025. The visit was to present the report of PenCom’s 2024 routine inspection of the Lagos State Pension Commission (LASPEC) and to thank the Governor for confirming his participation as Special Guest at the Pension Industry Leadership Retreat starting 8 May 2025. PENCOM pledges to see that Lagos State pays CPS retirees.

Director General of National Pension Commission, Ms Omolola Oloworaran has pledged that the Commission will fast track and work towards Lagos State government paying retirees under the Contributory Pension Scheme what is due to them like their federal counterparts. She made the pledge at a media workshop in Lagos for journalists.
