To many observers, the one year in office of PenCom DG, Ms.Omolola Oloworaran is full of great impacts, innovations in the Pension industry, and new ideas to address Pension challenges in the country.

It is therefore not surprising that top management staff of PenCom pulled a surprise package for her as she was welcomed into office on the day of her first anniversary, commending her achievements in the first year in office.

Welcoming her to office

The National Pension Commission staff commended the Director-General, Omolola Oloworaran, for her visionary and impactful leadership of the Pension industry.

They gave the commendation on the occasion of Oloworaran’s first year in office as the boss of the organization.

The staff,who pulled up a surprise welcome to honour the DG on her remarkable one year in office, spoke glowingly about the successes recorded, especially the timely payment of accrued pension rights to retirees.

They further lauded her unparalleled commitment to staff welfare.

The visibly happy boss was welcomed at the entrance by a team of Commissioners and Senior Management, who accompanied her on the stairway to her office.

"Under her leadership, PenCom has experienced renewed energy, stronger collaboration, and a clear sense of direction as the Commission advances major reforms across the pension industry.

Her leadership continues to inspire confidence and drive excellence across the organisation" they said.

Omisande: CPS Pensioners in Lagos State assured of payment of their increase pension benefits as their Federal counterparts.

Pensioners under the Contributory Pension Scheme(CPS) in Lagos State have been urged to be patient concerning their much awaited increases, as there are assurance that all what they are entitled to will be paid earlier next year. PenCom urges Lagos State Governor to extend periodic pension increase to retirees under CPS, as Sanwoolu welcomes the idea.

The National Pension Commission (PenCom) has called on the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to extend periodic pension increases currently enjoyed by Defined Benefit Scheme (DBS) retirees to those under the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) to boost their monthly pensions. The Director General of PenCom, Ms. Omolola Oloworaran, made the request during a courtesy visit to Governor Sanwo-Olu at the Lagos State Government House on 7 May 2025. PENCOM pledges to see that Lagos State pays CPS retirees.

Director General of National Pension Commission, Ms Omolola Oloworaran has pledged that the Commission will fast track and work towards Lagos State government paying retirees under the Contributory Pension Scheme what is due to them like their federal counterparts. She made the pledge at a media workshop in Lagos for journalists. The Director General was surprised when she was asked why the Template for the payment was not released to Lagos State government for the payment of backlog of areas and allowances as approved by the Federal government, which Federal retirees are currently enjoying.
