In the spirit of Love, NSITF Staff Fellowship Fetes Inmates of Kuje Correctional Centre

It was joy and upliftment as members of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund, (NSITF) Staff Fellowship visited Kuje Correctional Centre on Tuesday bringing hope and succour to inmates.

According to the coordinator of the group, John Oleka, the visit was in partnership with the Fund as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility efforts.

The programme's aim, according to the coordinator, "is to provide support, hope, and rehabilitation resources to the inmates. This initiative aligns with the objectives of demonstrating corporate social responsibility and fostering a positive impact within our
organization."

The programme featured a service, counselling session, presentation of donated items including food, toiletries, reading materials, and clothings, and payment of WAEC fees for twenty inmates.

In his sermon, the minister, Vincent Obiorah said the Lord Jesus Christ identified with all shades of people and was ready to forgive all irrespective of their past.

He explained that Jesus Christ was God's greatest gift to man and should be accepted by all. The preacher counselled inmates to make the most of their time and see their situations as opportunities to reorder their lives.

Purpose of the Fellowship was to "bring together NSITF staff for spiritual growth, team building, and social interaction. Our
activities includes prayers, workshops, and community outreach programs. We envision this fellowship becoming
a cornerstone for NSITF’s internal culture and external engagements,” the Minister summed.

PenCom urges Lagos State Governor to extend periodic pension increase to retirees under CPS, as Sanwoolu welcomes the idea.

The National Pension Commission (PenCom)  has called on  the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to extend periodic pension increases currently enjoyed by Defined Benefit Scheme (DBS) retirees to those under the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) to boost their monthly pensions.  The Director General of PenCom, Ms. Omolola Oloworaran, made the request during a courtesy visit to Governor Sanwo-Olu at the Lagos State Government House on 7 May 2025. PENCOM pledges to see that Lagos State pays CPS retirees.

Director General of National Pension Commission, Ms Omolola Oloworaran has pledged that the Commission will fast track and work towards Lagos State government paying retirees under the Contributory Pension Scheme what is due to them like their federal counterparts. She made the pledge at a media workshop in Lagos for journalists.
