NUPENG pledges to prioritize members welfare, and strengthen the Union, as it holds National Executive Council Meeting.

The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) held its third National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the year in Lagos on Monday with a pledge to continue to prioritize workers welfare and strengthen the union through love and mutual cooperation of members.

The session brought together the Union's leadership to assess progress in 2025 and formulate strategies for the upcoming year's activities.

In his opening address, Comrade Akporeha
thanked the NEC and the entire membership for their steadfast support throughout his tenure. 

He highlighted that the Union's
 accomplishments were a direct result of collaborative efforts between the Council, members, and secretariat staff.

The President also commended the General Secretary, Comrade Afolabi Olawale, for his dedicated service.

In his remarks, General Secretary,  Comrade Afolabi Olawale acknowledged the support of the President and NEC members. He stressed the meeting's significance in planning pivotal 2026 events, including Zonal Council elections, Special Delegates Conference, and  National Delegates Conference, all scheduled for the first quarter of the year 2026.

Other senior leaders in attendance included Comrade Salimon Akanni Oladiti (National Trustee), Comrade Prince Moses, Comrade Solomon Kilanko, Comrade Danladi Yahaya, Comrade Thompson Ogbodo, and other NEC members.

CPS Pensioners in Lagos state call on Gov. Sanwoolu, to expedite action on the payment of their Benefits.

The delay in the payment of their Pension Arears and other entitlements is worrisome to the Contributory Pensioners in Lagos state, who called on Governor Babajide Sanwoolu to quickly take a decisive action to pay their areas and other entitlements as approved by President Bola Tinubu. PENCOM pledges to see that Lagos State pays CPS retirees.

Director General of National Pension Commission, Ms Omolola Oloworaran has pledged that the Commission will fast track and work towards Lagos State government paying retirees under the Contributory Pension Scheme what is due to them like their federal counterparts. She made the pledge at a media workshop in Lagos for journalists.
