APC Chieftain calls on Governor Sanwoolu to emulate President Tinubu and pay Retirees Pension increases

Afolabi Oyekunle

A Chieftain of APC in Lagos State, Alhaji Moshood Mayegun has urged the Lagos State Governor, His Excellence, Babajide Sanwoolu to emulate President Bola Tinubu and implement Pension increases for Contributory Pensioners in Lagos State.

Alhaji Mayegun, a one time Education Secretary  Lagos Island LGEA, who is the deputy Chairman APC, in Lagos State, said this at the Thanksgiving/get together of CPS Pensioners, Lagos Island Retirees.

Alhaji Moshood Mayegun after listening to the lamentations of the CPS retirees due to non-payment of their pension increases as obtained by their  federal counterparts, promised to convey the message of the Retirees on Pension increases to  Governor Sanwoolu.

He assured that Governor Sanwo-Olu, as the Political Son of President Tinubu, will toe his line on Pension increase payment for Lagos Retirees.

             Governor Babajide Sanwoolu.

Meanwhile, It is the belief of Lagos State Chairman, NUPCPS, Comrade Michael Omisande, that Governor Sanwo-Olu will also emulate  President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on pension increase implementation for Lagos Retirees.

He expressed the optimism while also speaking at the occasion.

         Comrade Michael 0misande.

In foreign Lands, he said, Senior Citizens are not made to suffer on their rights to get terminal benefits.

Comrade Omisande said the follow up Team will visit Alausa next week to monitor the progress of the pension increase template.

He lauded Lagos Island Retirees for their commitments saying they come from Mowe, ibeju Lekki and outside the Island to attend the monthly meeting.
He said their sacrifice would not go in vain.

Comrade Omisande said the Governor is a Man of his words, just as President Tinubu is a Lover of Pensioners.

Comrade Omisande urged the Retirees to obtain Permanent Voters Cards, PVCs, to enable them exercise their franchise in 2027 polls.

To some observers, the Lagos State government has no genuine reason not to have pay the CPS retirees their benefits since President Bola Tinubu directed the increases for Retirees under the CPS scheme.

Already the Federal retirees under the CPS scheme had been paid their pension increases as directed by President Bola Tinubu, leaving Lagos State and few states.
