The Executive Chairman of Agbado Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Abiodun Jimoh Isola Ejigbadero, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to preventive healthcare as the council held a Measles–Rubella Vaccine Campaign Awareness programme at the Council Secretariat.
Speaking during the sensitisation engagement at the council secretariat on the 5th of February 2026, Hon. Ejigbadero described the initiative as a critical step towards strengthening public health awareness and safeguarding the wellbeing of residents, particularly children.
He noted that the campaign was designed to deepen community understanding of routine immunisation and dispel misconceptions surrounding vaccination.
According to the council chairman, the awareness programme reaffirmed the collective resolve of the local government to prioritise preventive healthcare, community education and proactive governance.
He emphasised that immunisation remains one of the safest and most effective means of protecting children from preventable diseases such as measles and rubella.
Hon. Ejigbadero urged parents and caregivers across the LCDA to fully embrace immunisation, stressing that timely vaccination not only protects individual children but also contributes to building healthier and more resilient communities.
He further assured residents that the Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA would continue to support people-focused health interventions and collaborate with relevant health authorities to strengthen confidence in routine vaccination programmes.
The Measles–Rubella Vaccine Campaign Awareness forms part of ongoing efforts by the local government to promote public health, reduce child mortality and ensure a healthier future for families within the council area.
