Contributory Pensioners in Lagos state have been assured that their long time awaited Pension Arears will be paid by the government.
The Chairman, NUPCPS, Lagos State Council, Comrade Michael Omisande gave the assurance, while addressing CPS Retirees at Alagutan and Idimu Zones during their monthly meetings.
He said the state government has no excuse not to pay because President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has tripled the monthly allocation of state governments.
Comrade Omisande told the Retirees that the Pension increases and the wage award would be paid together.
He said there is no doubt on the sincerity of Governor Babajide Sanwoolu to implement the Pension increase being enjoyed by Federal Retirees adding that the Actuaries compiling the increase are not resting on their oars.
Comrade Omisande said no fewer than 55, 000 Retirees in the state would benefit and sued for patience to enable the Actuaries do a thorough job.
Comrade Omisande said the Lagos State Pension Commission, LASPEC, has promised to avail the Leadership of the Union, the Pension increase computation on completion before it is transmitted to Mr. Governor for consideration and approval.
He commended Idimu Coordinator, Pastor Bolajoko Akinlagun and Coordinator, Alagutan, Dr. Doris Ovwurie for their managerial skills.
New Members were admitted at the two Zones.
Comrade Omisande, born in April, joined Birthday Celebrants at Alagutan Zone, to cut the birthday cake.
They donated chairs and table to mark the occasion.
And at Idimu Zone, the chairman commissioned dozens of plastic chairs.
