NUPENG President advocates continuous engagement between employers and unions in advancing workers welfare in the oil industry.

NUPENG President, Comrade Salimon Akanni Oladiti has emphasized the importance of continuous engagement, transparency, and shared responsibility in advancing the welfare of workers and the growth of Nigeria's oil and gas sector. 



He made the remark when he led a high-powered NUPENG delegation, on a working visit to Chevron management .

 The high-powered NUPENG delegation, which received a warm reception from Union members on the ground, comprised prominent Union leaders including Deputy President, Comrade Akin Oladejo; Acting General Secretary, Comrade Otite Onohwohwo; National Auditor, Comrade Leke Adepegba; and Adviser (Informal)/PTD National Chairman, Comrade Mathias O. Ote; National Security Coordinator, Comrade Alhaji Saheed Gbolahan Adigun. 

Also in attendance were Lagos Zone Chairman, Comrade Olayemi Samuel; Vice Chairman, Comrade Dr. Babalola Obisola; SAGS/Admin. Head, Comrade Osunbor Idahoise; Women Committee Secretary, Comrade Omotayo Olayemi Tinuade; Trustee, Comrade Tunde Ilori; and AGS, Research & Public Affairs, Comrade Suleiman M. Pema.

The Chevron Management team, led by top executives including General Manager, Supply Chain Management, Mr. Marizu Nwokoma; Director HR, Mr. Anthony Effiong; Industrial Relations Manager, Mr. Femi Olayiwole; Advisor Labour Relations, Mr. Frank Esanubi; HR Specialist, Ajulo Yemisi; Manager Planning, Cost Recovery and Workforce Engagement, Mr. Chido Okoli; and Advisor Labour Relations, Ms. Ebun Owolabi, extended a warm welcome to the Union leaders, setting the stage for a frank, constructive, and forward-looking engagement.

Discussions were held in an atmosphere of mutual respect and candour, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to industrial harmony and operational excellence.

 Notably, Chevron Management expressed a genuine willingness to resolve all outstanding issues through enhanced dialogue, timely interventions, and improved collaboration with the Union.

In his remarks, Comrade Salimon Akanni Oladiti emphasized the importance of continuous engagement, transparency, and shared responsibility in advancing the welfare of workers and the growth of Nigeria's oil and gas sector. He commended Chevron's demonstrated commitment to constructive labour relations and called for sustained synergy to address the challenges facing the industry.

The visit underscores NUPENG's proactive approach to fostering peaceful industrial relations and ensuring that the voices of petroleum workers are not only heard but given due priority at the highest levels of decision-making. Both parties have agreed to sustain the momentum of this engagement through periodic reviews and structured follow-up mechanisms.

This strategic dialogue marks another milestone in NUPENG's ongoing efforts to promote worker welfare, operational stability, and sectoral growth—reaffirming the Union's position as a key stakeholder in Nigeria's energy sector.

CPS Pensioners in Lagos state call on Gov. Sanwoolu, to expedite action on the payment of their Benefits.

PENCOM pledges to see that Lagos State pays CPS retirees.

Director General of National Pension Commission, Ms Omolola Oloworaran has pledged that the Commission will fast track and work towards Lagos State government paying retirees under the Contributory Pension Scheme what is due to them like their federal counterparts. She made the pledge at a media workshop in Lagos for journalists.
