Members of the Lagos state NUPCPS have been advised to prepare for "Mother of all protests" to press for the release of their pension enhancement and other entitlements from the Lagos state government.
The protest is fixed for this month after the expiration of the 19 days ultimatum given to the state to pay the Pensioners.
Chairman of the Lagos state NUPCPS, Comrade Michael Omisande gave the directive after a meeting with the Permanent secretary, Public Service Office, Sunkanmi Oyegbola, in which the Director General, LASPEC, Babalola Obilana and executive director, finance, Muyiwa Oshin also joined.
According to Comrade Omisande, It is a sacrifice they must render for their financial emancipation.
" I strongly believe that the money can be paid if the government really wants to pay within the time frame".
"According to him, the Leadership of Nigeria Union of Pensioners, contributory Pension scheme, NUPCPS, Lagos State Council honoured the invite of the Permanent secretary, Public Service Office, Sunkanmi Oyegbola on Monday, 3rd August, 2026 to deliberate on the perceived delay in the implementation of the much touted Pension increases/Wage Award for CPS Pensioners in Lagos State.

In the course of the meeting, the Director General, LASPEC, Babalola Obilana and executive director, finance, Muyiwa Oshin joined and gave an insight on the Pension increases/wage Award issue.
"Mr Obilana said Mr. Governor summoned him and after meeting with him, Mr. Governor gave a directive on it.
He did not specify when the implementation would be carried out."
Comrade Omisande said the Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon Mudashiru Obasa has also been notified of the impeding Protest, including the Lagos State Commissioner for Police for adequate protection.
The chairman, NLC, Lagos State, Agnes Sessie also stumbled on the Meeting and lent support for NUPCPS.
