NATIONAL NUPCPS IDENTIFIES WITH LAGOS COUNCIL ON IMPENDING PROTEST , SUBMIT LETTER TO GOV. SANWOOLU.

National Union of Pensioners Contributory Scheme (NUPCPS) has thrown its weight behind the impending protests by CPS Pensioners in Lagos state demanding for the payment of their pension enhancement and entitlements from the state government.
As a way of identifying with the cause of CPS Pensioners in Lagos State on the actualization of the Pension increases/wage Award struggle, the National Secretary of NUPCPS, Comrade John Bisam was at the Government House, Alausa, today, Friday, 7/8/26 to submit a letter from the National Chairman to Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu.

He said the National Body is in full support of the planned Protest on 31/8/26, if the State Government fails to credit their Accounts on the pension increases/wage Award by 19 August, 2026.
Following the delay in the payment of their benefits by the Lagos state government, the Lagos state NUPCPS has given the state government 19 days notice to pay their benefits as approved by President Bola Tinubu or face what it called mother of protests
It could be recalled that following President Bola Tinubu approval Pensioners under the CPS at the federal level have been paid pension enhancement and benefits while 5 states including Lagos state are yet to implement the increase.
The Lagos state NUPCPS has mounted pressure on the Lagos state government to follow suit but has yet to yield to their demands.
