Nigeria's future is in the hands of the people not politicians says Femi Falana.

Nigeria's destiny is not in the hands of anybody or politician but with the people, therefore there is the need to build institutions, create enabling environment, system and opportunities for growth, progress and development.

This is the submission of Speakers at the Nehemiah Ministry Creative Leadership Summit in Lagos at the weekend in which several topics were treated by different speakers towards finding solutions to the myriad of problems confronting the country.

In his contribution at the Summit, on the topic " Who will save Nigeria", Mr. Femi Falana (SAN) said Nigerians should not believe an individual can solve all the problems in the country but should remain active and begin to ask questions and query inconsistent policies and hold the leaders accountable.

Mr. Falana said with the numerous raw materials and opportunities in the country, Nigerians have no business to be subjected to poverty which is currently rampant in the country.

He called for principle leaders who are focused with good visions for the country and the people.

Mr. Falana also called on the government to address the issue of erratic power supply in the country and ensure stable supply in all the nooks and crannies of the country. 

 He argued that no meaningful development can take place in the country without stable supply of electricity.

He also called on the government to provide free education in the country as its the right of the people to be educated, arguing that nobody should be denied the right to education because of money.

Speaking on the role religion play in the country politics, Barrister Falana said government is playing 'cards' with the people using religion as a dividing tool. He therefore called on the people to keep their religion to themselves and not mix it with politics.

However speaking on the role of religion in politics, several speakers said it would be difficult to separate politics from religion arguing that what the people need to exhibit is love towards each other irrespective of religious inclination.

They argued that human beings are political animal in nature and political minded .

Chief Imam Raufu Makinde of Olorunkemi Olowo Central Mosque said it does not matter the religious belief of a politician if he can deliver the dividends of democracy, whether Muslim, Christian. He therefore called on Nigerians to demonstrate love towards others instead of their religion background.

In her submission, Prophetess Lynda Adewale,  a Deputy Zonal Leader, Christians in Politics however called for balance in religion in choosing leaders to positions to minimise conflicts in politics because of religion.

In another topic, a former Commissioner of Education in Lagos state,  Mrs Folashade Adefisayo speaking on the utilizing of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its treat to education in Nigeria said AI is a veritable modern tool that can be used to further education development in Nigeria.

She noted that it has its advantages and disadvantages, but noted that it can be used positively to boost education and enhance the capability of students and teachers.

Mrs. Adefisayo therefore called on schools, educationists to key to AI.

She warned that students should be well guided in the use of AI by responsible people and not just anyone.

Converner of the Summit, Pastor Oyedeji Babatunde Moses of Nehemiah Ministry said the Ministry organised the summit as its own way towards providing solutions to multiple problems facing the people and the nation.
