Tinubu Names Abiodun Director of Fundraising for APC 2027 Campaign

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, as Director of Fundraising for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The appointment was contained in the list of members of the campaign council released on Saturday by the Presidency.

President Tinubu will serve as Chairman of the council, while Vice President Kashim Shettima will be Vice Chairman. APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, is also listed as Vice Chairman, while former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, will serve as Director-General.

Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, is the Secretary, while APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Bashiru, and Hadiza Bala-Usman will serve as Deputy Secretary and Assistant Secretary respectively.

As Director of Fundraising, Governor Abiodun will coordinate efforts to mobilise financial resources and support for the APC presidential campaign ahead of the 2027 elections.

The campaign council also includes a body of advisers comprising former Osun State Governor, Chief Bisi Akande; veteran journalist and politician, Chief Segun Osoba; Senator Rochas Okorocha; former APC National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu; and Senator Florence Ita Giwa.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni have been appointed Deputy Directors-General for the South and North, alongside Senator Bamidele Opeyemi and Senator Jibril Barau.

Senator Adams Oshiomhole will serve as Deputy Director-General in charge of Mobilisation, while the President’s Chief of Staff will oversee Administration as Deputy Director-General.

James Abiodun Faleke, who played a prominent role in the 2022/2023 presidential campaign, returns as Deputy Director-General for Election Planning, Coordination and Monitoring.

Faleke will work with zonal directors, including Senator Olushola Adeyeye for the South-West, Dr Ngozi Olejeme for the South-South, Senator Uche Ekwunife for the South-East, Muntaqha Rabe for the North-West, Ahmed Muhammed Ketso for the North-Central and Senator Sani Danladi for the North-East.

Muiz Adeyemi Banire will head the Legal Directorate, with Dr Liman Hassan and Babatunde Ogala serving as deputies.

The Media and Strategic Communication Directorate will be coordinated by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris Malagi, alongside Dele Alake, Bayo Onanuga and Lanre Issa-Onilu.

Tunde Rahman, Sunday Dare, Daniel Bwala and Felix Morka will serve as coordinating deputy directors in the directorate.

Segun Dada has been appointed Director of New Media, a position he also held during the 2022 campaign, while Solomon Arowolo will serve as Secretary, New Media.

The council also named five spokespersons, led by Dele Alake. Other spokespersons are Alwan Hassan, Ayobami Oyalowo, Kemi Asekun-Shittu and Adamu Fanda.

President Tinubu charged members of the campaign council to work tirelessly to secure victory for the APC in the 2027 elections.

He also urged leaders of the various directorates to reach out to other party members who may not have been formally listed, encouraging them to contribute to the campaign effort.

According to the President, the APC-led Federal Government has delivered on its campaign promises and placed Nigeria on the path of economic progress. He urged members of the council to effectively communicate the administration’s achievements and inspire confidence among Nigerians ahead of the elections.

PENCOM pledges to see that Lagos State pays CPS retirees.

Director General of National Pension Commission, Ms Omolola Oloworaran has pledged that the Commission will fast track and work towards Lagos State government paying retirees under the Contributory Pension Scheme what is due to them like their federal counterparts.
