Pay our Pension Arears or face Massive protests; CPS Pensioners warn Lagos State government.

Dissatisfied with the non-payment of their Pension Arears as approved by  the Federal government for Pensioners under the Contributory Pension Scheme, Lagos State  Pensioners have given the Lagos state government up till the end of March 2026  to pay them or face Massive protests.  The Lagos State Chairman, Nigeria Union of Pensioners Contributory Pension Scheme ( NUPCPS) Comrade Michael Omisande, made the stand of the Pensioners known at the Open Congress Day of the Pensioners to mark the nineth year of the establishment and affliation of it to the Nigeria Union of Pensioners. Top Officials of NRC in bribery scandals in award of contracts to CCECC and other contractors.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has begun investigation on how top Officials of Nigerian Railway Corporation, NRC demanded bribes from contractors and from China Civil Engineering Construction (CCECC)Company before contracts were awarded.  Already,  three senior officials of the Corporation, on  Wednesday, February 25, 2026, were arraigned   before a Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja over alleged abuse of office, money laundering, collection of bribes from railway contractors to secure contracts from the NRC, and unlawful enrichment  to the tune of over ₦2.04 billion. Lagos State Pensioners accuse DG LASPEC Obilana of treating them as Second Class Citizens

Pensioners in Lagos state are not please with the Lagos State Pension Commission, LASPEC under the Director General, Babalola Obilana, accusing the Commission of treating them as second class citizens.        DG LASPEC Babalola Obilana  Chairman, Caretaker Committe, Nigeria Union of Pensioners in Lagos State, Comrade Olufemi Olanrewaju spoke the minds of the Pensioners at the meeting between the leadership of Nigeria Union of Pensioners, NUP and leaders of Contributory Pension Scheme led by Comrade Michael Omisande. PENGASSAN faults Executive Order on Oil & Gas Industry, says it will discourage investors, and create job losses.

Petroleum and Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, PENGASSAN, has faulted the Executive Order by President Bola Tinubu on the oil and gas sectors describing it as an abuse on the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) governing the 0il and Gas Industry.  At a press conference in Lagos on the Executive Order, PENGASSAN President, Festus Osifo said an Executive Order cannot surpesede the law of the land, and cannot override statutory provisions or invalidate existing laws enacted by the National Assembly. NSITF aims towards Reforms for Enhanced Performances.

The Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) has set a new reform agenda aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s social security system, following its two-day 2026 Management Performance Review (MPR) meeting in Abuja. The meeting, attended by top management of the Fund, was convened to assess the Fund’s performance in 2025 and chart a policy direction for improved service delivery and financial sustainability in the new year. Discussions focused on reviewing regional performances, strengthening collaboration across branches, identifying operational challenges, and realigning the Fund towards greater efficiency and value delivery. APC Chieftain calls on Governor Sanwoolu to emulate President Tinubu and pay Retirees Pension increases

Afolabi Oyekunle A Chieftain of APC in Lagos State, Alhaji Moshood Mayegun has urged the Lagos State Governor, His Excellence, Babajide Sanwoolu to emulate President Bola Tinubu and implement Pension increases for Contributory Pensioners in Lagos State. NRC condemns destruction of its property in Ibadan, Oyo state.

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has frowned over the  destruction and theft of railway assets worth millions of naira in the Ibadan South-West Local Government Area of Oyo State. In a press release, the Corporation alleged that the incident occurred at the Mile One-Ten axis in Ibadan, and was led  by the Chairman of Ibadan South-West LG, Hon. Kehinde Adeyemi Amanda. According to NRC, the Chairman was accompanied by a group of thugs, individuals in Nigerian Army uniforms, and operatives of the Amotekun Corps. "The group reportedly vandalized critical infrastructure, including rails, sleepers, signal poles, and perimeter fences belonging to NRC tenants. .Attempts by NRC Police officers to intervene were reportedly resisted, forcing them to withdraw to avoid a violent escalation. NSITF says allegations of fraud and mismanagement against its Managing Director are false.

The Management of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund ( NSITF) says allegations of fraud, abuse of office, and financial impropriety against its Managing Director/Chief Executive, Barrister Oluwaseun Falaye, are false, malicious, and unsupported by verifiable facts. A statement by the Management said it  appears to form part of a coordinated attempt to discredit the leadership of the Fund and undermine the far-reaching reforms currently underway. According to the statement, NSITF operates strictly within a clearly defined statutory, financial, and governance framework under the Employees’ Compensation Act (ECA), 2010, the Public Finance Management laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and applicable Treasury, procurement, and audit regulations. PENGASSAN debunks recent publication in This Day Newspaper.

The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN)  has debunked a recent publication in This Day Newspaper alleging that the Association accused TotalEnergies Nigeria Limited of maltreatment of Nigerian employees, harassment by expatriates, violations of the Nigerian Local Content Act, racism, among other claims. PENGASSAN in a press release signed by the Acting General Secretary, Comrade Jerry Amah, states that it has neither issued any statement on the matter nor provided any document to the media.  "The cited publication referenced an internal document between staff and their management without authorization, constituting a breach of privacy and confidentiality which the Association strongly condemns".
