The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has begun investigation on how top Officials of Nigerian Railway Corporation, NRC demanded bribes from contractors and from China Civil Engineering Construction (CCECC)Company before contracts were awarded.  Already,  three senior officials of the Corporation, on  Wednesday, February 25, 2026, were arraigned   before a Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja over alleged abuse of office, money laundering, collection of bribes from railway contractors to secure contracts from the NRC, and unlawful enrichment  to the tune of over ₦2.04 billion. The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has frowned over the  destruction and theft of railway assets worth millions of naira in the Ibadan South-West Local Government Area of Oyo State. In a press release, the Corporation alleged that the incident occurred at the Mile One-Ten axis in Ibadan, and was led  by the Chairman of Ibadan South-West LG, Hon. Kehinde Adeyemi Amanda.
